What is tolerance?

Tolerance is showing love and compassion towards those who you disagree with. NOT accepting the behavior or beliefs of those people. There is a HUGE difference. In today’s society the opposition to Prop 8 is claiming Prop 8 supporters are intolerant because we will not endorse their behavior.

Who is really being intolerant on this issue? Check out this video and decide: Prop 8 Tolerance on UTube

  1. I agree! It has happened on both sides though, but more so from the opposition to prop 8.

    Free speech everyone!

    Yes on 8!

  2. I was talking to some friends today about the current election. I have been involved in election campaigns for over 30 years both as a candidate and as a volunteer. But I don’t think that I have ever been involved in a campaign that has been as vicious and mean-spirited as the campaign on Proposition 8. I happen to support the passage of this measure. However like most issues, I believe there are valid arguments on both sides. But they are not being discussed because the majority of the opponents of Proposition 8 have insisted on demonizing the supporters of the measure as intolerant bigots. Unfortunately once one side believes that the other side is evil they can justify any action against their opponents. This has happened all too often in the Proposition 8 campaign. Opponents of the measure have vandalized or stolen thousands of campaign signs, vandalized personal property of supporters, made threats against campaign volunteers and, in at least one instance, beat a campaign worker. No matter how the vote turns out on Tuesday, the real loser will be our electoral process.

  3. Thanks for your comment Marc, i think you are right on. the whole thing makes me sick.

  4. The idea that our public school administrators are unbiased observers in this election or in our children’s moral education is a farce.

TODAY in our town, a prop 8 sign that was too close to school property was destroyed by two Conejo Valley Unified administrators. It was caught on camera.

There’s no way they can say that they are unbiased in this debate. The ferocity and cruelty shows through. This is who runs our schools. This is the face of tolerance. As much as I would like to believe that this is a rarity, 200,000 stolen, defaced, destroyed and vandalized signs proves otherwise.
