More examples of gay marriage repercussions in Massachusetts

Anyone who thinks that same-sex “marriage” is a benign eccentricity which won’t affect the average person should consider what it has done in Massachusetts. It’s become a hammer to force the acceptance and normalization of homosexuality on everyone. And this train is moving fast. What has happened so far is only the beginning.

  1. Good post, Keep blogging. We are sprinting towards Nov 4. Vote yes on Prop 8!

The Skinny on Schools and Prop 8.

1 – Public schools in California are not required to teach anything about marriage.

2 – 96 percent of California public schools teach a Health and Sex Ed Curriculum, which is my understanding is required under law (but I cannot find that online yet from the State, I am still looking).

3 – If a public school teaches Health and Sex Ed, they are required to teach the following :

“Instruction shall be appropriate for students of all genders, sexual orientations, and ethnic and cultural backgrounds…Instruction shall encourage communication between students and their families and shall teach respect for marriage and committed relationships.

4 – This means that schools that teach Heath and Sex Ed will now be required to teach that Gay Marriage is the same as Marriage between a Man and a Woman.

  2. The thing that bothers me about this whole issue is the effect it will inevitably have on our children. Our children are the things most precious to us. It’s completely terrifying that they would want this kind of confusion in the schools.

The more I look at it the clearer it becomes, gay rights activists have an agenda. They say that gayness is not a choice, that it’s genetically driven, so we shouldn’t deny them their lifestyle and we’re discriminating if we do. But the statistics show that children raised in a gay environment are much more likely to choose the gay lifestyle themselves.

While there may be some genetic component, the consensus is that it is most likely a combination of genetics and societal influence. For instance, one of our high schools is having a rash of homosexual type experimentation because it’s become the edge thing to do.

That has everything to do with environment and nothing to do with genetics. That a school would choose to immerse the future generations with this kind of crosstalk and confusion is unfathomable.

  5. as i’ve studied this issue, i’ve realized that the state really does have a responsibility to protect its children.

France took a year studying the issue BEFORE they decided. They rejected same-sex marriage because of the rights of children.

Every child has a right to a mom and a dad. This is how they grow and learn best. While homosexual parents might be really good people, they can’t equal a mom AND a dad.

society has an obligation to provide this basic and natural/biological right to its children.

there is a cool discussion going on here:

  6. Wow… could you link to a more BIASED source?

There are two sides to every story. Apparently you only want the one which makes you feel better about trying to deny me marriage rights.

  7. What? Biased to show facts about what has happened in Massachusetts because same-sex marriage is legal?

Honey, this is a much larger issue than you are thinking.

I definitely don’t envy being in your position, I understand you really feel how you feel and that’s a difficult trial you’ve been dealt.

    The point is two-fold:

    1) Redefining marriage forces me and every other religious or moral person to not just tolerate but to support something that is totally against our beliefs. Apparently you “only want” to deny everyone else’s constitutional right to freedom of religion–which is one of the basic principles this country was founded on. This link gives people a glimpse of what they will be forced to do if same-sex marriage is legalized.

    And

    2) There’s a reason why religious people are against legalization of same-sex marriage. There’s plenty of proof out there that destroying the traditional definition of marriage will cause the disintegration of that society. Take a look at the Netherlands where same-sex marriage has been legal for many years. They have separated pro-creation from marriage creating fragile families where 30% of all children are born outside of wedlock.

After reviewing the situation in countries where same-sex marriage is legal, the country of France opted to maintain the traditional definition of marriage for the sake of children’s rights.

You can review their summary here and I will likewise make a new post about this document:

The issue Prop 8 addresses is not just between me and you today at this moment, it is about the stability of our society through generations.

  8. I really can’t even believe what I am reading here. Marriage is marriage, it does NOT have a different meaning if its between two men, two women or a man and a women. Kids are pretty smart and open minded for the most part these days, unless they suffer from their parents ignorance and fear. Too many people cloak themselves behind their religion and that is a weakness. Have faith in yourself, its none of anyone elses business how others choose to love. This is suppose to be a FREE ….FREE country where’s the support in that. Love is beautiful regardless of the sex, why does it bother you that much? Focus on you!

  9. The facts in other countries where gay marriage is legalized show that the union of a man and a woman, and the union of two of the same genders is NOT the same. Proponents of same-sex marriage believe that marriage is only a means of ratifying love. It’s not. If it were, then maybe you’d have an argument. The institution of marriage was created to provide a stable framework for children to be raised in. Let’s not flippantly experiment on the definition of marriage in our country before seriously studying the implications on society and children. We cannot put so-called adult “rights” over the rights of children. Read what France has to say about this: http://www.lifesitenews.com/ldn/2006_docs/Francesummary.pdf

  10. The institution of marriage was created to provide a stable framework for children to be raised in.

So why all these arguments that some children aren’t entitled to that stable framework, just because they have gay parents?
